Our RINGFEDER® Locking Elements provide compact, economical and completely backlash-free force-fit shaft-hub connections for the secure transmission of torques and axial loads. The interacting outer and inner taper rings are axially compressed by a customer-designed clamping arrangement, thereby creating a reliable friction-locked connection between shaft and hub. Keys, wedges or other form-fit connecting elements are not required. As a result, shaft and hub remain free of keyways, notch effects are minimized and manufacturing is simplified. The non-self-centering locking elements can be positioned freely and precisely adapted to the available installation space, materials and required transmissible loads through the number and size of the clamping screws. Typical applications include the mounting of gear wheels, sprockets, belt and rope pulleys, flywheels, cams, levers, couplings and flanges in machinery and plant engineering as well as drive and material handling technology. Up to four elements can be arranged in series to increase the transmissible loads. The RINGFEDER® RfN 8006 series includes an extensive standard range for shaft diameters of up to 1,000 millimeters and is available in slit and solid versions as well as in stainless steel. When correctly designed, it provides a backlash-, wear- and maintenance-free connection that is easy to mount and dismount.
