Elastomer Jaw Couplings of the RINGFEDER® TNM series, formerly TSCHAN® TNM and NOR-MEX®, provide versatile and economical connection solutions for a wide range of industrial drives. Compression-loaded Perbunan elastomers form an oil-resistant and electrically conductive intermediate ring that dampens shocks and torsional vibrations while compensating for axial, radial and angular shaft misalignments. Different material hardnesses enable the transmission capacity and torsional stiffness to be matched to the specific application. The torsionally elastic, fail-safe and axially pluggable couplings are typically used with gearboxes, pumps, screw compressors and combined heat and power units, as well as in general machinery and plant engineering. With nominal torques of up to 40,000 Nm, the modular portfolio covers a broad performance range and includes one-piece and multi-piece versions, solutions with brake discs or brake drums, and types with a mounting flange or radially removable intermediate sleeve. In multi-piece versions, the elastic intermediate ring can be replaced without axially moving the connected machinery, thereby reducing maintenance requirements and downtime.
