RfN 7015.0 - Trailing suction hopper dredge

Trailing suction hopper dredge

RfN 7015.0 320x405

Description:

The suction system of the Belgian „Trailing suction hopper dredge” consists of two pumps, one underwater pump and one overwater pump. The RfN 7015.0 connects the shaft of the overwater pump with the cast rotor (see picture, weight approx. 2.000 kg)

Special requirements:

Because of the high wear on the pump rotor (pumping sand from the sea ground for 24 hours / day during 6 to 8 weeks) the complete pumping system of the vessel should be maintained every 6 to 8 weeks completely and the rotor must be changed by a new one. As the “non operative” time of such a vessel is so expensive, the maintenance should be done in a very tight timeframe. Therefore the special requirement for the locking assembly of the pump rotor should be easy to dismantle and easy to mount again.
